About Me

I'm Mitchell Dixon a Computer Games (Indie) student at Southampton Solent University. On this course I am learning the fundamentals of programming, game design, game engines, databases, and the work flows of many different platforms. In my spare time I enjoy creating games and I'm always try to push myself in every new game I make. Whether that's adding story elements or simply trying to add more complex mechanics. Whilst I love just sitting down and making a game on my own, I also love joining in at game jams and working hard to make sure my team makes an extra special game. I have learnt a lot from game jams in terms of team work and how to make sure that I not only work well in the team but encourage others to try their very best too.

Education:

I'm currently studying Computer Games (Indie) at Southampton Solent University. I enjoy learning about programming in C++/C# and have got very used to using Unity. I love units that teach me something new or help me get better at an existing skill. Game creation units have been my favourite so far as they combined game design challenges with programming.

Southampton Solent University 2016 till present
Lambeth College. September 2014 to 2016:

Creative Media Production(Game Development) BTEC Level 3 extended diploma (DDM)

I studied game design at Lambeth College where I started to learn how the games industry operates and how to be successful in it. The diversity of the students helps me to always stay open minded and I value the range of cultures that I get to study alongside. My course has helped me develop many game design related skills but also teamwork, coordination, leadership (in group tasks) and dedication.
